A limited number go out to local schools and sponsor businesses. You must present that free ticket at the door to get in free. No ticket in hand means $8 general admission, same as every other night.
What’s This All About?
Every October, we turn part of Hemphill into a haunted maze.
The Hemphill Lions Club's haunted house winds through over 300 feet of indoor pathways, packed with scares, laughs, and surprises. All for a good cause, every scream helps fund scholarships, glasses, and holiday help for families right here in Hemphill.

This is a setup day, not a ticketed night, everyone is welcome to come help put up tents and staging. It is also when we draw the winner of the 5 free tickets to Halloween night.
Also Needed: Actors for the Run Itself
No experience needed. We’ll guide you through it.
- Acting in the haunted house (adults especially needed)
- Greeting guests, selling tickets, or managing the line
- Helping with setup and takedown on event nights

What are the dates and times?
Saturday, October 17, 2026, Saturday, October 24, 2026, Saturday, October 31, 2026. 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, or until the last victim makes it out.
Are tickets ever free?
A limited number of free tickets go out to local schools and sponsor businesses for our first night, Saturday, October 17, 2026. You must present that free ticket at the door to get in free, just having a connection to one of those schools or businesses isn't enough. Without a ticket in hand, admission is $8 per person, online or at the door, every night including the first.
How do I enter to win tickets to Halloween night?
Scan the QR code around town, or go to hemphilllionsclub.org/win to register. Entries close Friday, October 9, 2026 at 4:59 AM. One winner gets all 5 tickets to Halloween night (Saturday, October 31, 2026). The drawing is held at our volunteer workday, Saturday, October 10, 2026.
How scary is it?
Very. It’s designed for older kids, teens, and adults, not recommended for small children or those who are easily frightened. We recommend parental discretion for children under 12.
Is there an age limit?
No official limit, but we recommend ages 12 and up. Parental discretion is advised.
How long does it take?
About 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the crowd size and your pace.
Do the actors touch visitors?
No. They will get very close for a truly immersive and terrifying experience, but they will not touch you.
Is there parking?
Yes, ample on-site parking. Please follow the signs and attendants’ directions when you arrive.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. The route involves walking and possibly some uneven ground.
Can I leave if I get too scared?
Yes, any time. Let a staff member know and they’ll help you out.
Can I go through more than once on one ticket?
One ticket is one entry. Buy another ticket to go through again.
